A shocking story has emerged of a 6-year-old boy who beat his 13-day-old sister to death while left alone in the car with their 3-year old brother.
The 62-year-old mother Kathleen Marie Steele who left them in the car to run errands, has been arrested by Florida police and charged with aggravated manslaughter, Mirror reports .
On Monday, 8th August, Steele left her 3 children in the car for 38 minutes while she ran errands. The newborn baby started crying which seemed to annoy the eldest child.
He removed her from her car seat and “slammed her head onto the ceiling, banged her head on the floor and dropped her numerous times, which ultimately led to the baby’s death,” Florida officials said.
“The skull was cracked in numerous places, described as probably mush … one of the worst things that I’ve ever seen.”Pinellas County Sheriff Bob Gualtieri said.
On returning to the car, Steele didn’t notice that her daughter was unresponsive till they got home. She then asked a neigbour who is a registered nurse for assistance. The nurse started CPR on the baby and called 911; but unfortunately, by the time the baby got to St Petersburg General Hospital, she was pronounced dead.
The six-year-old boy admitted to the attack, but will not face charges due to his age. He is reported to have very serious behavioural issues, and has been taken into care
Kathleen Marie Steele conceived her baby girl through artificial insemination with her late husband’s sperm. He died of cancer in 2011. Steele once starred on the reality show ‘I’m Pregnant and…55 Years Old’.
