On Saturday afternoon, celebrity twin-mom-to-be Beyoncé had an epic baby shower dubbed the ‘Carter Push Party’, to celebrate the coming birth of her twin babies.
The exclusive party had her close family and celebrity friends in attendance, including her former Destiny’s Child bandmates Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams, TV personality Lala Anthony, and pregnant tennis star Serena Williams.
Photos and videos from the baby bash shared on Instagram by the singer’s mom, Miss Tina Lawson, showed that the party had a distinctive African flavour to it. African prints, African decor and even Nigeria’s Fela Anikulapo Kuti‘s music were all a prominent feature of the baby shower.
In one of the clips, the happy guests paused mid-party to shout: “Happy Carter Push Party!”
“The party was very family friendly with Blue Ivy and lots of her friends running around the grounds of the estate,” a source told E! News.
“There was a huge tent erected on the property where most of the shower took place. The decor was African themed and very colorful with lounge seating areas, floor pillows and rugs on the floor.”
“The tables had lanterns, wooden elephants and pink and white roses for centerpieces. There was also a henna tattoo artist and African dancers and drummers walking around. A huge soul food buffet was served for a late lunch.”
For her look of the day, the superstar wore an ankara outfit which flaunted her baby bump, showing off an impressive henna tattoo.
