Woman gives birth to FOUR babies in 11 months

She planned to have ‘Irish twins‘, but ended up with ‘Irish quadruplets’. All within 11 months, how incredible!

Mom from Swansea, Becky John thought it would be great if her newborn daughter Mya had a sibling who was close in age to play with, and decided to try for another baby with her partner Jason Evans.

John, who welcomed Mya last February, fell pregnant again few weeks later, and was shocked to discover that Mya wasn’t getting just one play mate, but three. Yes, she was pregnant with triplets.

Neither John herself nor her friends could believe it: “I had to stare at the screen just to make sure for myself. And I counted the heartbeats one by one. It was true I was actually pregnant with triplets.

“They were all naturally conceived and they were each from a separate egg, which is really rare. Doctors told us it was the healthiest way to have triplets, because they all had a placenta each, it meant there was no risks associated with any one of them sharing a placenta.

“When we told our friends and family, people thought they were joking. Jason’s a bit of a joker, so no one took him seriously when he told them. Even when he showed his sister the scan picture of all three triplets together, she still wasn’t convinced.”

John who also has a nine-year-old daughter named Kayla, safely welcomed her triplets Ryan, Raya and Phoebe, through a caesarian at 34 weeks.

“I was so huge by that time I could barely move and doctors wanted to get them out in case I went into labour early.

“If I went into labour naturally, then it could increase the risk of things going wrong. And we didn’t want that to happen, so I was booked in for my caesarian operation. I was nervous when I went in, but desperate to meet my three new arrivals.

“Ryan weighed 4lb12oz, Raya weighed in at 4lb3oz, and Phoebe at 4lb11oz. So they were all healthy weights.

“I’ve been carrying around nearly 15lb of babies. I couldn’t believe it. But I was just so relieved they were all healthy and well,” she said.

Do you believe in miracle births, because it’s really happening! Despite the possible health implications, some mothers are safely having their babies back to back. Just last week, we read about a Nigerian mom Adanma Ohakim, who welcomed two babies in a year.

Congratulations to all parents of Irish siblings. It’s not an easy feat coping with babies so close together in age.
