Hey there working mama!
So pregnancy has happened, and your priority right now is dressing for comfort.
The challenge? How on earth to dress comfortably without looking frumpy in a corporate environment. Well, don’t fret! The greatest pregnaslayer of all times has got that covered.
Stella Uzo of J’adore fashion blog thrilled everyone with her amazing maternity style while she was pregnant. She has been, and will continue to be a point of reference for every pregnant woman who wishes to stay stylish.
Today, we shall draw inspiration from her work-wear inspired maternity style.
1. First of all…pencil skirts!
Even before you got pregnant, you always knew pencil skirts were essential for that professional and “Power Exec” look. Pregnancy should be no different. Get comfortable, stylish, and polished in stretchy over-the-bump or under-the-bump pencil skirts. Pair them up with button down shirts, or blouses. Finish off the look with pumps or flats, depending on how stable you are on your feet. Throw on a colour-popping belt for emphasis.
Pencil skirts are total wise-buys, they are stretchy and can also be worn after you’ve lost the pregnancy weight.
2. Why not plaid it out?
Plaids are already corporate by the nature of their patterns, and every preggo loves patterned clothes because they perfectly flatter bumps. Are we in luck or what? Get your corporate pregnaslay on, by investing in some plaid pieces: shirts, skirts, jackets or pants. You will look like a million bucks, and while at it, don’t forget to walk into that office or meeting with your head and bump held high!
3. Blazers are life savers
Blazers are everything! You can practically transform any kind of outfit into a corporate look with classic well cut blazers. Wear super comfy clothes underneath and throw on a blazer for a professional look. You might want to splurge on these, as you will need them even after pregnancy.
4. Pants, pants, and more pants…
All sorts of pants: over the bump, under the bump, at the bump…well you get the picture.
Maternity pants are essential for revamping your style. From the plain well tailored pants to the leggings, jeggings and jeans, they increase the versatility of your wardrobe when paired with just about any kind of top. Add a blazer or heels to the mix, and you are right on the money!
5. Casual Fridays
Let your hair down and downplay things in a chic yet professional laid-back style. Let your personality shine forth on casual Fridays!
